Cin7 implementation, done around your channels

We're an independent implementation partner — we scope, configure and connect Cin7 so every channel sells from one accurate stock position.

Who is Cin7 right for?

Cin7 suits product sellers with multiple sales channels — retail, eCommerce, marketplaces, wholesale, 3PL and EDI — who need stock, orders and warehouses connected into one automated flow. If your complexity is production rather than channels, Unleashed is often the simpler fit.

What is Cin7?

Cin7 is connected inventory management software: it links your products, sales channels, stock locations, orders and warehouses into one automated flow. When an order lands — from your website, a marketplace, a retail store or a wholesale customer — Cin7 allocates stock, routes fulfilment and keeps every channel's availability accurate.

There are two products under the brand: Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR Systems), the inventory and order platform most small-to-medium product businesses use, and Cin7 Omni, the multi-channel platform with built-in EDI and 3PL connections for heavier retail and distribution requirements. Both connect to Xero and QuickBooks, which keeps the accounting side familiar for NZ and Australian businesses.

What we do as your implementation partner

Scope & fit

We map your channels, order volumes and fulfilment paths first — including whether Core or Omni is the right product for you, and whether Cin7 is the right tool at all.

Configure & migrate data

Locations, price tiers, B2B and retail workflows configured to match how you sell. Products, customers, suppliers and opening stock migrated and validated in a test environment before anything goes live.

Integrate

Xero or QuickBooks mapped correctly, plus your selling stack: Shopify or other eCommerce platforms, marketplaces like Amazon, retail POS, 3PL warehouses and EDI connections to major retailers.

Train & go-live + support

Training for warehouse, sales and admin roles, a planned cut-over that doesn't drop orders mid-flight, and hands-on support through the first weeks of live trading.

When Cin7 is the right choice — and when it isn't

Choose it when…

  • You sell through several channels — retail, eCommerce, marketplaces, wholesale — and stock accuracy keeps slipping between them
  • You use a 3PL, or need EDI connections to larger retailers
  • Orders should flow to fulfilment automatically instead of being re-keyed
  • You want to keep Xero or QuickBooks as your accounting system
  • You're growing channel by channel and each new one currently adds manual work

Look elsewhere when…

  • Your complexity is making things — batch tracking, assemblies and production point to Unleashed
  • You want financials, inventory and orders in one ERP suite — consider NetSuite
  • You'd rather build up one modular system over time, including accounting — look at Odoo
  • No platform expresses your workflow well — a custom AI-native build may be the better answer

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Cin7 implementation take?

From a few weeks for a straightforward setup with one or two sales channels and clean data, to a few months when there are complex migrations, many channels, EDI or 3PL connections to build and test. The number of integrations is usually the biggest driver of timeline, so scoping them properly up front matters.

What's the difference between Cin7 Core and Cin7 Omni?

They're two products under the Cin7 brand. Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR Systems) is the inventory and order management platform most small-to-medium product businesses use. Cin7 Omni is the multi-channel platform with built-in EDI and 3PL connections, aimed at businesses with heavier retail and distribution requirements. Part of scoping is working out which one actually fits you.

Does Cin7 integrate with Xero?

Yes — Cin7 connects to Xero (and QuickBooks), so sales, purchases and cost-of-goods data flow through to your accounting without double entry. It also connects to eCommerce platforms like Shopify, marketplaces like Amazon, and 3PL and EDI networks — that connected, multi-channel flow is its core strength.

Is Cin7 right for a wholesale business that also sells online?

That mixed model is exactly what Cin7 is built for: wholesale orders, a B2B portal, eCommerce and marketplace sales all drawing on the same stock, in one automated flow. If you only sell through one channel and your complexity is production rather than channels, Unleashed may be the simpler fit.
